FREE for All Ages
Come discover real solutions for real people in this self-guided, open-house tour that spotlights 20 residential and commercial buildings located throughout the greater Houston metropolitan area that have installed solar energy systems and other energy-efficient and sustainable technologies. Solar energy systems highlighted during the tour include active solar systems; PV, solar hot water and solar pool heaters. The main purpose of the tour is to raise awareness of solar energy systems and provide an opportunity for anyone to see working solar systems.

The Houston Solar Tour is affiliated with the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) and takes place in conjunction with National Energy Awareness Month. Thousands of similar open-house tours will be taking place on the same day across the USA in what is described as “the largest grassroots solar event in history." The ASES solar tours promote sustainability and build awareness of working energy-saving technologies and systems through building design, energy efficient appliances and the use of green materials during remodeling.
